This study examines efforts in impoverished neighborhoods through the 'Shikum Schunot' project, revisiting the purpose and process of urban renewal using graphic and planning methods. It aims to combine historical and current perspectives to highlight dilemmas faced during crises, depicting daily life through photography, social sciences, architecture, and planning. This approach raises awareness of poverty within Israeli society and space. The study questions the relationship between poverty and space, and whether changing space can influence poverty. Focusing on the 'Shikum Schunot' neighborhood rehabilitation project, it investigates whether urban renewal has affected poverty, evaluates existing policies for improvement, and explores how future policies can address poverty. The research contributes to neighborhood documentation by collecting both current and archival multidisciplinary data. Four diverse neighborhoods in central Israel—Bnei Brak, Ramle, Rehovot. A Podcast Series, bringing the voices of politicians, planners, community activists and residents can be streamed here.
